I love the Enneagram as it can serve true freedom and awakening - and I have fallen into its trap as well... It is a joy adn privilege to share its gifts and approach as a means for deep self-discovery, refinement of our perception and increasing compassion.

Workshop: Introduction Enneagram
The workshop consists of part 1, Introduction to the Enneagram, and part 2, the Enneagram of Transformation. Both parts can be followed separately. You will discover the possibilities of the Enneagram for yourself: finding out how you 'move' will point to the Enneagram type that plays out in you. This can be embarrassing but also open you to discover the living truth of your own Essence.

Part 1: the subdivision of the 9 character types into the 3 movements (towards the other, away from the other, and against the other) and the 3 basic emotions (sadness, fear and anger).
Part 2: The Essence of Transformation and Being a True Friend.

Enneagram course

We will approach the Enneagram practically through guided meditations, self-examination, exercises in diads and triads and through bodywork. You will gain insight into and experience with the different appearances of each of the 9 types. All this in a playful way and within the mutual agreement of confidentiality and respect. As a counselor or teacher but also without having a specific role, you will be able to connect with the client, student and another person with a quiet mind and an open heart.

Summary of the content
  • The basic attitude to be able to integrate this knowledge, to notice it in yourself and and to learn to work with it: as a True Friend, who has a quiet mind and an open heart.
  • Traps on the path of learning the Enneagram: recognize, accept and transform.
  •  Theory and practise of the subdivision of the enneagram in 3 basic types, each of which has a core manifestation, an introverted and an extraverted manifestation.
  • To experience and gain insight in the different manifestations of each of the 9 types, like its characteristic reaction patterns, pitfalls, defense and avoidance mechanisms, idealization, speaking styles, passions, virtues, etc.
  • The workshop and course are about the Enneagram of character fixation, other than personality type. We will address the difference between the two. Also we pay attention to the relationship with personality disorders according to the DSM-V.

Self-Inquiry and the Enneagram

'May therapist and client both wake up'  Papaji

Silence, Peace, Openness is always here, is our true nature. When we are identified, we forget this and respond to certain stimuli in a way that is characteristic of us. This way we protect our 'I', assert it or make it look nicer and better.
In deep self-examination we discover how we live in the trance of 'me, my life, mine, the other, the world'. This trance can be seen as a survival mechanism, composed of assumptions, ideas and judgments, of habitual tendencies and emotions which determine and limit our sense of self, behavior and experiences.

The 'Enneagram of Transformation', as accessed by my teacher Eli Jaxon-Bear et al., is a valuable tool for recognizing and exploring this trance. While it is innate to want to survive, we can make the choice to stop our identification and awaken from the trance of who we are NOT. This choice comes from the essential freedom that is always here, which we can realize as our innate essence.

The knowledge of the Enneagram can be traced back to Pythagoras and was a secret for a long time. Now it is available for who is interested. However, sincere self-examination is crucial to absorb and apply this knowledge wisely.
Enneagram

The Enneagram is displayed in a geometric figure with the numbers 1 to 9 which represent each character type with its specific tendency to self-preservation. These numbers have connecting lines that show how the manifestation of each type changes when in stress and -into the other direction- when in relaxation.

Studying the Enneagram, primarily to fathom one's own Enneagram-type, is like learning a language. As a therapist, coach or teacher, knowledge of the Enneagram is valuable to guide the client/student  with specific questions to self-understanding and their life's fulfillment.

'By investigating, 'Who am I?' the delusion will come to an end'

Integration

Getting to know the 9 Enneagram types and subtypes takes contemplation, practice and exchange.

Experience shows that the recognition of our own enneagram structure makes us aware of obstacles, but also opens a way to freedom. Integrating what has been learned, for us personally and as a care provider, will raise new insights but also questions. These questions can be discussed during the integration meeting.

The integration meeting can be followed after participation in the course, during a daypart of 3 hours or during 2 evenings of 1.5 hours (online or on location).

It is possible to participate in several integration meetings. We will meet your wish to repeat or deepen specific topics.

It is recommended to participate in the integration meeting within six months after following the course.

"Everyone wants to be happy."

This is the opening line of the book

From Fixation to Freedom,

written by my teacher EliJaxon-Bear.

'Why is it that so few are truly

happy? (...) How can the desire for

happiness manifest as ignorance,

greed and violence?

The Enneagram offers an answer to this

puzzle and points to the solution.'
