Who am I?

Bagage and skills were given to me as a child, being the eldest in a catholic family. Around the age of 18  I was blown away by the title of the book 'You are The World', by J. Krishnamurti. I felt the unmistakable recognition of an indisputable truth. Therafter began my search: through teachings, reading, education and turning inwards. Inspired by several teachers, I could land in The Leela School for Awakening, founded by Eli Jaxon Bear, in the lineage of Poonja 'Papaji' and Ramana Maharshi.

Since the age of  20, I meditated daily, until I had to admit I had emotional and physical blockages that I could not ignore or escape. During a period of intensive emotional bodywork, my life and my view of life changed totally.

First as a skin therapist and since 1995 as a Iokai Shiatsu Therapist with Traditional Eastern Medicine, my practice expanded into body-focussed approaches such as the Trager Approach and TRE (Tension & Trauma Release Exercises), Imaginery Coaching for Cancer and Chronical Disease, the Enneagram and Hypnotherapy.

Because of a condition that me and my practice brought to a standstill, I experienced an as upsetting as deepening time. This made me start to offer small group trainings in which meditation, contemplation and body awareness were the central themes and some years later I restarted my practice for individual sessions.

Curious about current and applicable old wisdom and truth I visited many mystical places.
Besides travelling, I also love to dance, walk, visit the theater and concert, art, sail, yoga, read and cook. I am a devoted aunt, living together with Hugo and a grandmother for 14 years already!

With passion and wonder and as A True Friend I am part of a network of awareness, healing and development, the great transformation game called 'Life'.

As a member of the Dutch Professional Association for Hypnotherapists and associated with the Leela School of Awakening, I am responsable for testing and quality preservation.

My vision on Therapy, Spirituality and Meditation

“No matter how beautifully people talk about enlightenment, the truth is usually very simple: make your bed!”.

Live courageously

Be still and accept that which is here and do what needs to be done. Our attitude matters. We can realize that everything is interconnected.
'Doing' means taking the right action. In certain situations this means: 'do nothing'. Even though we feel fear: to still make that leap: to show up in whether you act or not: this is the way of the warrior. 'Accepting' is bowing to what is true. To bow is to go along with, like the grain in the wind, ripening by the influence of the elements.
Bowing is also a religious gesture, where you align the crown, the 'higher wisdom' with the Heart, Love, the center. When we fold our hands for the heart: 'Namasté', we recognise that your heart and my heart are One.

On thinking

Thought can evoke tension in the form of fear, doubt, judgments, demands, expectations and deceptions. This states then fix themselves energetically inside our system: then we lose contact with our intuition, our vitality is numbed, the thinking becomes confused. When we see that we cannot hold a thought, no matter how hard we try, we can surrender to the situation and resolve fog and obscuration. Everything that appears has a beginning, a middle and an end. We have "a problem" when something occurs that we don't want to be there, or when something is missing that we want to be here. A problem is often not what it appears to be. It is merely a situation that requires attention and can nee seen as an opportunity for development.

Man has been given the ability to examine himself. This is wonderful! Awareness of unhealthy habits and emotional reactions can open us to the question: What's going on here? What do I really want?
Listening, contemplation, a pause, meditation: these all provide space for meeting and experiencing directly what is present. I can be there for you during this process of discovery, to guide and support you on your journey.

Healthy thinking is using and developing discernment, that is the ability to judge well. In doing so, thinking can thus serve what is true, what is needed, what is right.

Awareness

When we become aware of separation, of nothingness and of magnificence, the question may arise: "Who am I really?" We realize that we are not the body, nor the feeling, nor the thinking, and the world and society in all its shapes just keep appearing. When you realize this, what does it mean for your life? Has anything changed? Do you realize that you are Openness, Awareness, Silence, a container for everything that comes and goes? This realization can be vaguely present, sometimes slumbering and ripening, but it can also be so close that there are no words for it. Then there is only wonder, silence,  recognition, surrender and gratitude.

And ... then it is time again for 'chopping wood and fetching water' ...

Meditation and Contemplation

We take a pause: abstain from activities in this moment, from identification with entertainment and distraction, a break in the midst of brooding or thinking, a conversation or even an altercation. Such a pause might only last a fraction of a second. But you can also sit or stand still some time, or move or lie down, for example as I offer this during the Meditation guidance and course.

To meditate literally means: 'Practice', to become proficient. Simply put: stop. It is however not a quick fix. Practice has the same power as that of water: with time it can move rocks!

The practice of meditation and contemplation can bring you the following:
* Broadening of perspective
* Silence, openness and peace in all circumstances
* Recognize emotional errors and patterns and be free to let go of them
* Insight and development of intuition
* Clarity and decisiveness in what you perceive , in what you want, in skills and achievement
* Better concentration and results
* Improved ability o relax and enjoy more easily
* Inspiration and increased energy
* Liberation from limiting Beliefs.

All of this will be offered and explored in the weekly Meditation hour and the bi-monthly Meditation course.
